                                       The St Luke’s Community Choir

The Mass for the Community of Saint Luke is our very own choral work. It was commissioned by the Community of St Luke in 2013 in memory of Rev. David Clark who died in 2012. Renowned Auckland composer David Hamilton has shaped this beautiful work using traditional mass structures and drawing on a range of sources and traditions. In doing so he has created a distinctly Aotearoa New Zealand choral work incorporating te reo and the sounds of te whenua. This is the second time this work will be performed publicly. We welcome experienced singers and people who want to sing in a choir for the first time as a concert performance

Your invitation to join us
Once a year in winter 50 singers from all over Auckland join us for one performance to help us raise funds for our church organ refurbishment fund. We warmly welcome you to join us if you are:
•    A singer who already sings regularly in a choir
•    A singer who prefers just one singing commitment each year
•    A singer who loves to work with an eclectic collection of choral music lovers and to meet new people
•    A singer who would love to sing in a choir but never quite had the courage
•    A singer who can sing in tune, has some basic music sight reading, some  musical knowledge and experience …..and is willing to learn.
•    NB No auditions but we need to know about your experience to date
